Ministry of Food also launches subsidy scheme for whitefly pesticides
Islamabad: The Ministry of National Food Security and Research has launched a markup subsidy scheme under the Agricultural Finance Package to mitigate the Corona effect.
According to the announcement, Rs 6.861 billion will be spent on 10% mark-up subsidy on agricultural loans through the Agricultural Development Bank Limited. The scheme is being implemented across the country including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The government will bear 10% markup on agricultural loans from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. Miscellaneous farmers will bear the balance markup as per agreed terms.
The due date for full repayment of the subsidy loan is June 30, 2021. Contact the nearest ZTBL branch for adjustment in subsidy against farmer loans. Similarly, the Ministry of National Security has started a subsidy scheme for whitefly pesticides.
