Karachi: NEPRA has approved an increase in electricity tariff by Rs 62 paisa per unit.
According to Express News, people should be prepared to pay extra bills as NEPRA has decided to increase the price of electricity by Rs 1.62 per unit, under which an additional burden of Rs 165 billion has been approved on power consumers.
The increase has been decided for the period from October 2019 to March 2020. The decision will take effect after a government notification. An additional burden of Rs 73 billion has been approved for the second quarter of FY 2020, while an additional burden of Rs 91.80 billion has been approved for the third quarter of FY 2020.
