Karachi: During the visit of PML-N Central Vice President Maryam Nawaz to Mazar-e-Quaid, her husband Capt. (R) Muhammad Safdar started chanting slogans in the covered shrine, to which there was a strong reaction from the federal ministers.
Capt. (R) Muhammad Safdar chanted slogans of "Respect the Vote" in the premises of Mazar-e-Quaid. Capt. (R) Muhammad Safdar entered the premises of the grave of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He crossed the nets around the grave and stood by the grave and shouted slogans. The workers present there also chanted slogans respecting the vote.
On this occasion Maryam Nawaz, Maryam Aurangzeb, Nihal Hashmi and Ali Akbar Gujjar were present inside the central lattice around the grave of the founder of Pakistan.
After the video of sloganeering inside Mazar-e-Quaid came to light, PTI leaders also reacted and termed the chanting of slogans in the premises as a violation of the sanctity of the shrine.
Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz said that using the shrine of Babae Qaum for his politics is highly reprehensible and shameful. Mohsin would go to the shrine of Pakistan and apologize that we ruthlessly looted his homeland, deviated from the ideology, and impoverished the people of Pakistan with all our pockets.
In a tweet, Federal Minister Ali Zaidi videotaped the chanting of slogans at Mazar-e-Quaid with the comment that the desecration of Quaid-e-Azam's mausoleum by this criminal gang disguised as politicians is not acceptable.
Similarly, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hamad Azhar also strongly criticized the incident in a tweet. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi President Khurram Sher Zaman said in a statement that Modi's speakers violated the sanctity of Mazar-e-Quaid.
He said that Begum Safdar and her followers do not even respect the sanctity of the shrine. Those who created chaos at the shrine should be arrested. Those who have RSS agenda will not care about the sanctity of Mazar-e-Quaid. Apologize to Maryam Safdar Awan and Hawari Qaum.
