102 countries approached IMF for financial assistance, MD
Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says it is cooperating with member states to combat the corona virus epidemic.
The IMF's managing director, Kristalina Giorgiova, said in an interview that emergency assistance had been provided to a number of countries so far. She said access to emergency aid had been doubled to deal with the effects of the epidemic.
The IMF's Board of Governors has provided assistance to dozens of countries, including Pakistan, through the new Short Term Liquidity Line (SLL) and Rapid Financing Instrument, a new short-term loan system for member countries.
