Islamabad: The federal cabinet approved constitutional amendments to give dual nationals the right to run in elections and to oblige elected members to take oaths within 60 days and to end secret ballots in Senate elections.
A meeting of the federal cabinet was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which an 18-point agenda was considered. The Cabinet approved the export of anti-malarial drugs and protective clothing and the retail price of 250 medicines, including medicines for diseases such as hepatitis, influenza, cancer, etc.
The federal cabinet also approved the revocation of the dubious licenses of 22 more pilots. The Cabinet was informed that with the revocation of these licenses, action is being taken by the FIA against such pilots and civil aviation personnel who collaborated with them.
The Cabinet also decided to give the post of Chief Executive Officer of the National Disaster Risk Management Fund temporarily to the Secretary Climate Change and to appoint Air Commodore Faisal Ayaz Siddiqui and Air Commodore Muhammad Adnan Siddiqui as members of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board. The Federal Cabinet approved the proposed Bill “Civil Services Academy Bill 2020” to make the Civil Services Academy an independent body and directed to start the process to fill the vacancy of the Member Competition Commission of Pakistan.
The Cabinet ratified the decisions taken at the meeting of the Economic Co-ordination Committee on September 2, 2020. Cabinet members also demanded legislation to give severe punishment to the perpetrators of rape, to which Prime Minister Imran Khan said such convicts do not deserve any concessions.
