All detainees have been quarantined after screening at the airport
Lahore: Through the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan, hundreds of Pakistanis imprisoned in Malaysian jails returned home.
250 Pakistani prisoners in Malaysian jails arrived at Lahore Allama Iqbal International Airport via Malaysian Airlines. The Malaysian Airlines plane landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore where the passengers were immigrated.
All Pakistani prisoners have been kept in quarantine after screening at the airport. The Pakistan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur also made efforts on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan and then the release of the prisoners became possible.
On the other hand, another 167 Pakistanis from Malaysia reached Lahore. Passengers arriving in Lahore on a special flight of Malaysia Airlines will be transferred to Quarantine after asking and immigration.
Amna Baloch, Pakistan's High Commissioner to Malaysia, said that the repatriation of all Pakistani prisoners would be ensured by three flights before Eid and the third flight carrying Pakistanis would reach Pakistan on Monday.
It is clear that the majority of returnees were hiding in Malaysia despite the expiration of their visas, but were caught and imprisoned under Malaysian law. Prime Minister Imran Khan has demanded their release. Khan had requested the Malaysian Prime Minister to release him.
