Karachi: Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Chairman Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee, has demanded that the government arrest those who insult the honor of the Companions.
Addressing a gathering of imams and preachers at Darul Uloom Naeemia Karachi, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that we do not want sectarian confrontation in the country under any circumstances and we will not compromise on our beliefs. Those who insulted the Barmala Companions, it is the responsibility of the government to bring them to justice and prevent such incidents in the future.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that we started the series of public rallies to give Muslims a chance to express their feelings peacefully and our protest came to the notice of the authorities and the government should fulfill its constitutional, legal and sharia obligations. If we did not give the people a chance to express their feelings peacefully, an extremist class could provoke them and use them for negative purposes, which is not in the interest of the country and the nation in any way.
He further said that the scholars should present their position with argument and reasoning, but in presenting their position one should not be overwhelmed by emotions, inadvertently such words come out of the mouth which are catchy, Karachi's "honor". The role of Imams, Sermons and Scholars was exemplary in making the rally successful and peaceful for the protection of the Prophethood and the Honor of the Ahlul Bayt and his Companions. Will inform
