In 2019, 3 investigations were approved against the Chaudhry brothers.

Lahore: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) closed its inquiry against Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

NAB Lahore closed its 20-year-old inquiry into non-payment of banks against the Chaudhry brothers and submitted a report to the Lahore High Court.

The NAB said in the report that the bank had closed its inquiry into non-payment due to lack of evidence against the Chaudhry brothers. The allegations against the Chaudhry brothers for obtaining a loan do not apply to them, so the inquiry is closed due to insufficient evidence.

The investigation against the Chaudhry brothers was started on April 12, 2000, which was later closed, but then suddenly, 20 years later, on February 14, 2019, three more investigations were approved.

Chaudhry Shujaat is accused of making assets in excess of his income as a federal minister. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, on the other hand, has other allegations including assets in excess of his income as Speaker of the Assembly and illegal appointments as a former Local Minister.

The NAB requested the court to reject the petitions filed against the Chaudhry brothers.
