Government members are making bills out of incompetence which are against the interest of Pakistan, former Prime Minister
Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that members of the government are acting not only in a hurry but also with incompetence and are drafting bills which are against the interests of Pakistan and its citizens.
Shahid Khaqan, Senior Vice President, PML-N, while criticizing the government regarding the FATF Bill, said that the amendments we had given to the government in the Anti Money Laundering Act were rejected, now the same amendments are included in the bill. We have suggested that the investigation under the Anti-Money Laundering Act should not be conducted under the NAB Act, but it is wrong to give the impression that this amendment will benefit the elected members.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the amendments rejected by the Senate today are also part of the joint sitting. Government members are working not only in a hurry but also with incompetence. They have made bills which are against the interests and citizens of Pakistan. The government is making black laws under the guise of FATF.
The former prime minister said that there is no such black law anywhere in the world that is being made in Pakistan, Pakistan is the only country in the world where people are detained for 180 days, within 24 hours of arrest by the NAB. It is necessary to provide a written reason when NAB has become the most corrupt institution in Pakistan.
