Karachi: During a robbery near Korangi Crossing, a manager of a private company supplying cigarettes was shot dead on resistance and during the incident, the robbers looted Rs. 11 lakh and fled.
Two persons aboard a Suzuki were injured in a firing incident near a private bank at Dekorangi Crossing within the limits of Korangi Industrial Area Police Station. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Amirul Javed, while the injured were identified as Kamran.
SSP Korangi Faisal Abdullah Chachar said that Umair was the manager of a cigarette supply company who was killed in the firing incident. Kamran is the driver of the cigarette. They were about to deposit Rs. 1 lakh when 4 robbers on 2 motorcycles near Korangi Crossing tried to stop them at gunpoint. The injured were being taken to hospital when the injured manager died on the way.
He said the robbers were fully aware that the money would be deposited in the bank by the company today and that was why they were already at the scene.
