Karachi: There will be no complete lockdown in Sindh today while following the directives of the federal government, the Sindh Home Department has also issued guidelines for Friday prayers and Eid prayers.
The instructions sent by the Home Department to all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of the province said that 20-point SOPs should be implemented for Eid prayer gatherings. It should be done and it should also be advertised through the media.
The notification said that Friday farewell and Eid prayers gatherings should be held in open spaces. In case of large number of worshipers, Eid prayers should be offered more than once in one place.
The Sindh Home Department has also directed to ensure foolproof security in the last days of Ramadan and said that additional security should be provided at the places of Jumu'ah-ul-Wada, Eid-ul-Fitr gatherings. Ensure security around highways and cemeteries. Scholars should be contacted for implementation of SOP.
In addition, all the commissioners of Sindh have been given special powers. Additional Chief Secretary Home Sindh has also been given special powers. According to an order of the Home Department, special powers have been assigned to the Additional Chief Secretary Home Commissioners under Section 144. Under section 144, the commissioners will be able to exercise their powers within the limits of their division. The special powers were approved by the Sindh cabinet.
